Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, we have changed our office policy for entry. Everyone must ring our doorbell for service. Prior to entry, you will be asked several questions via our intercom system. Upon satisfactory answering of questions, you will be given a COVID-19 form for completion through our door slot. Once finished, you will have your temperature taken and escorted into our office. All individuals must wear a mask. Only those with appointments are allowed to be in the office at this time. We are active participants in flattening the curve and appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Local businesswoman gives away free headshots as part of new initiative to help women rise

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) An area psychologist is working to give local women a leg up in life through a new initiative.

Kristi Dumas, the owner of Dumas Psychology Collective in Beckley, has a new program called ‘Women in Business,’ a series of webinars and special events.

Toward that end, she offered free headshots to ladies at her location in the United Bank Building on Main Street on Saturday. But she said this is just a start. She is also exploring the idea of a community closet to help women land or start that first job.

“I wish someone had given me an opportunity to navigate my business in a healthy professional way without spending a lot of money. We know starting a business is a lot of money. We’re trying to help women defray that cost and get a leg up.”

Right now, Dumas is conducting a survey to help steer her next project. To learn more about the survey and upcoming events with the initiative, visit https://www.dumaspsychologycollective.com/
